The 8th annual Ethnic, Gender, Transborder Studies & Sociology (EGTSS) Summit of Pima Community College welcomes internationally and locally known leaders in education, culture, and politics for a public conference on topics impacting Tucson’s diverse communities. Her work spans themes from war to wildlife conservation across the globe, including the Middle East, Africa, and China. Vitale will share, “a series of powerful images and stories about people on the front lines of war, climate change, and extinction who refuse to let cataclysm define their future” (amivitale.com).

Ami Vitale’s forthcoming presentation, “Wild Hope,” is a visually and emotionally compelling story that will draw out global connections for speakers’ panels and workshops to follow that will inform the public about the summit’s themes in our local communities and teach practical skills to address them. Tabling by community groups and student exhibits will enhance the day’s activities. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants who register for the day.
